How a Dubai business gets found on Google, without the jargon.

When someone in Dubai searches for a dentist, a car detailer or a place for dinner, Google shows them two things: a map with three businesses, and a list of websites. Here is how you get into both, without paying anyone to say the word algorithm.

01Start with your Google Business Profile

That map with three businesses comes from Google Business Profile, not your website. It's free, and for most local businesses it's the most valuable listing they have.

  • Claim and verify it if you haven't. Search your business name and look for the option to manage the profile.
  • Pick the right primary category. It matters more than most people realise. Be specific: "Cosmetic dentist" rather than just "Dentist", if that's what you are.
  • Keep your hours honest, including public holidays and Ramadan. Wrong hours lose customers and annoy Google.
  • Add real photos of your place, your team and your work. Not stock.
  • Link to your website and use the exact same business name, address and phone number everywhere.

02Make your website back it up

Google checks your website to confirm what your profile says. If the two disagree, or the website says very little, you're easier to ignore.

Say what you do and where. Your page title, the line that appears in Google's results, should read something like "Dental Clinic in Jumeirah | Your Name", not "Home".

Give each main service its own page. A page about teeth whitening can rank for teeth whitening. A single page listing twenty services rarely ranks for any of them.

Mention your area naturally. People search for Business Bay, JLT, Al Quoz and Jumeirah, not just Dubai. If you serve an area, say so in plain text.

Be fast on a phone. Most local searches happen on mobile. A slow website loses people before Google ever has a chance to reward it.

Add structured data. A small block of code that states your business type, address, hours and phone number in a format Google reads directly. Your customers never see it. Google does.

03Reviews do more than you think

Reviews influence both whether you appear and whether people choose you once you do.

  • Ask every happy customer, at the moment they're happiest.
  • Make it one tap with a direct review link on WhatsApp or a QR code at the counter.
  • Reply to every review, including the bad ones. Calm, specific replies win over the people reading them.
Your profile gets you on the map. Your website and reviews decide whether you stay there.

04What to ignore

Stuffing "best dentist Dubai" into every sentence. Buying backlinks. Posting on your profile every day for the sake of it. Anyone who guarantees a number one ranking. None of these are worth your money.

05Be patient, and be clear

Local search improves over weeks and months, not overnight. But the fundamentals compound: a complete profile, a clear and fast website, steady reviews.

The same clarity helps with AI assistants too. More people now ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a recommendation instead of searching. Those tools lean on the same thing Google does: clear, consistent, well structured information about who you are and what you do.
